Uthel Bell, son of Oscar Bell and Mary Snowden (Boseman) was born December 27 1926 in Beirne, Arkansas. he departed this life on October 21, 2011.
At an early age, he joined Shady Grove Baptist Church in Beirne, after which he joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, and later on he united with New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, both in Gurdon, Arkansas.
Uthel married Bessie Mae Bell Sanders and was a former employee of Cabe Lumber Co. and International Paper Co. Gurdon, where he retired. During his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his bike.
Preceding him in death is his parents, Oscar Bell and Mary Snowden, his wife, Bessie Mae Bell, his four daughters, Luberta Bell, Roberta Bell, Ollie May Bell, and Vila Lynn Bell; a babyboy; eight brothers and four sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three brothers, Paul Bell, John Bell and Oscar Bell Jr., four sisters, Hazel Welch, Patricia (Gary) Robinson, Jewel Briggs and Helen Tate; seven daughters, Bessie Rogers, Shirley Loving, Joyce Brown, Annie Hunter, Barbara Smith, Ruby Gatlin and Emma Young; four sons, Hebert Bell, Sammie Bell, Andy (Sharon) Bell and Randy (Sharon) Bell; forty-seven grandchildren, one-hundred-twelvegreat-grandchildren, a favored Aunt Christine and Aunt Maul, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will be held Friday, October 28, at 1:00 P.M. at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, Gurdon, Arkansas where Rev. Wiliam Colbert is Pastor and Rev. R.R. Hatley, Eulogist.
Viewing is Thursday from 12:00 noon until 7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Funeral Home.
