Annie Mae Moss was born September 29, 1939 in Arkadelphia, AR (Shady Grove Community) the second child of Lottie Mae and Monroe Moss.
Annie gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. She graduated from Peake High School where she was a majorette and member of the basketball team. Later in life she married Booker T. Jones and to this union five children were born: Lottie Marie, David Allen, Veronica, Stephanie Ann, and Samuel Thomas.
Some of her life pleasures were cooking, fishing, word search puzzles, and loving on her family. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She had a sharp mind and was always ready with a quick comeback. She always got in the last word. She had a strong will and loved her family. Whenever you talked to her you better be prepared to hear the truth because she didn’t bite her tounge and always said what she meant. You would always leave her presence with a smile on your face if not outright Laughing Out Loud!
In her 81st season of life she surrendered her soul to the Lord with her family at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie Mae Moss Barker and Monroe Moss; her husband, Booker Thomas Jones; son, David Allen Jones, and brother, Willie Davis Moss. She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Lottie (Kenny) Hamlin, Veronica Moore, and Stephanie Thomas all of Arkadelphia, AR; one son, Samuel (Nita) Jones, and Daughter-in-law, Rose Gale Jones all of Arkadelphia, AR; one sister, Sandra G. Bryant; grandchildren, Yolanda (Derrick) Beard, Charmaine Barzar, Latia Solomon, Jocelyn Jones-Steen, Ollie Ware Jr., Kenny Jones, Alicia (Tem) Nelson, Samuel Jones, Jr., LeAnndra Thomas, Joloni Solomon, Kentrel Hamlin, Kayla Hamlin, Teela Thomas, Duntrey Thompson, Brandon Giles, Shelby McClure, Theresa Ware, and Shalonda Crite; 11 great grands; 1 great great grand; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
