Annie Mae White was born May 12, 1946 to James and Geneva White in Arkadelphia, AR. She was the second of eight children raised in a Christian home full of love with her siblings.
Annie attended school in Arkadelphia and was a graduate of Peake High School. She worked in the Culinary Department at Homer’s Cafe and Peake High School and later in Hot Springs as a Home Health Aide. Annie was a faithful member of Manchester C.OG.I.C., where she served as an Usher for over 60 years- training under the leadership of Mother Sophie Luster.
Annie, affectionately called Mae, was soft spoken yet firm and always received people with a smile. She loved visiting with family and friends, riding her bike, tending to her garden, cooking, taking care of others as she was very nurturing, cleaning, and being outside with nature.
Annie made her heavenly transition on Monday, August 4, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Sr. and Geneva White; brothers, James White Jr., Cornelius White, and Clemon White. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Earnestine (Robert) Johnson and Betty Phifer; brothers Herman White and Derrick (Verkita) White; and sister in law, Lillie White all of Arkadelphia, AR; 14 nieces and nephews, 6 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.
Funeral services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Visitation will be at Mitchell Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 5 P.M. with family and friends hour from 6 P.M.- 7 P.M. on Friday, August 15, 2025. A celebration of life will be Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Greater Tate Temple Church of God in Christ in Arkadelphia at 11:00 A.M. where Superintendent LeRoy Williams is Pastor and Pastor Kermit Edington will serve as eulogist. Burial and final resting place will be in Piney Grove Cemetery in Arkadelphia.
