We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Mitchell Funeral Home
Anthony Lewis Smith was born to the late Emma Lee Smith-Nelson and Henry Wright on May 22, 1963. He graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1982. He worked construction jobs and his last employment was with Oaklawn in Hot Springs where he prepared horses for races. He loved to see those races!
In his spare time, Anthony, affectionately known as "Basha", enjoyed trout fishing and hunting. He also was a die-hard 49ers fan! Basha was a vibrant and loud personality who always said what was on his mind and had a "keep it real" personality.
On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, Anthony slipped into eternal rest. Those waiting on him with our Father in heaven include his mother, Emma Lee Smith-Nelson, and his brother Kenneth “Walk-man" Jones.
He is survived by his four children, Tyrone Summerville, Kimberly Summerville, and Jerel Yarber all of Arkadelphia, and Tavia Smith of Hot Springs; his grandchildren, Tywan Summerville, Wyatt Bedford, Zion Summerville, and Hunter Yarber; his siblings, Phillip (Maritta) Wright, Yvonne Neasley of Seattle Washington, Jaqueline “Renee” Hughes, Keith (Christi) Nelson, Jermaine (Veronica) Nelson, Amanda Garrard, and Jason (Tannea) Nelson all of Arkadelphia; a Special Aunt Myrtle Smith, and Special Friend Hazel McGhee of Grand Praire, Texas. He also leaves a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins extended family and friends.
