Ardell Valentino Applegate Sr.

Mr. Ardell Valentino Applegate Sr., 58, of Dermott, AR died June 1, 2015 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope, AR.

He was born September 16, 1956 in Dermott the son of Sam Randolph Jr. and Christine Henry Phillips. He was an employee of Scroll technologies in Arkadelphia and a member of Mt. Cannan Baptist Church of Gurdon, AR.

He is preceded in death by one brother Freddie Thompson of Gurdon.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory 5 brothers; Lee Otis Thompson, Randal Randolph and Dishongh Ellis all of Little Rock, Bernard Thompson of Prescott and Jesse Thompson of Gurdon; 3 sisters, Mary Gentry of Gurdon, Juanita Hervey and Ruthie Clayton (Larry) both of Little Rock; one son, Ardell Applegate Jr. of Little Rock; one daughter Rashunda Mitchell of Little Rock and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Cannan Baptist Church with Rev. Rufus Hatley as officiant. Interment will be at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, June 5, 2015 from 12 p.m. -7 p.m. with family hour from 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
