"And I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it someday for a crown"
Bernadette (Bernie) A. Heavener, age 76 of Prescott, AR went to be with our LORD on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 at Courtyard Garden Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia, AR.
Bernadette, affectionately known as Bernie, was a bubbly, joyful, Christmas baby born on December 25, 1943, in Milford, Iowa. She was the youngest of 11 children. Bernie went to Catholic Schools and then later in life earned a Business Degree in Management. Bernie enjoyed working with wood, scrapbooking, and working in the yard. She adored different color daisies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandbabies, and great-grands. Her favorite hymn was "The Old Rugged Cross"
Bernie is preceded in death by her parents, George and Bernadine Wintz, and nine siblings. Donna Bell, Mary Alice, Evelyn Mae, Joyce, Georgene, Carol, LeRoy, Robert, and Shirley.
Bernie leaves behind to cherish her precious memory: two daughters, Jean Spence (Kenny) of Lead Hill, AR and Kay McMahan (Don) of Prescott, AR; one sister, Violet Hafer of Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Lisa (Shane), Lloyd, Lora (Jacob), Katelyn (Davion), Joshua (Kimberly), and Dawna Kaye (Jalon); 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We will miss you dearly momma, but what a glorious day it will be when we meet again!
A family led memorial service will be at a later date.
