Charles Calvin Henson’s humble spirit came to a surprising end on Saturday, July 4, 2020, in his 61st season of life.
Charles’ Journey began on August 30, 1958, in Sparkman, Arkansas. He was the second oldest of nine siblings born to Jessie and Eula Henson. After attending Arkadelphia Public Schools, he enlisted in the United States Army. After serving his country, Charles utilized his many skills to become an Associate for Detroit First National Bank in Detroit, Michigan. He made a decision to return back to Arkansas where he became a Supervisor at Rineco Chemical Industrial Plant in Haskell, Arkansas for several years.
Sometimes in life, people are measured by the types of jobs, certificates, and accolades given to them by others. Charles was a man of many talents and will be measured by his generosity and laughter that he gave to others. His love and passion for his family were immeasurable. He brought so much joy and happiness to happiness to his family with endless stories, constant laughter, and a happy demeanor. Our family will never forget all the wonderful times we shared with him. To know him was to love him. He has left a void that cannot be filled.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Jesse L. Henson. He survived by his loving mother, Eula Mae Henson of Arkadelphia, AR; his daughter, LaShawn (LarNell) Turner of Hot Springs, AR; four brothers, Jesse (Mary) Henson of Little Rock, AR, Joseph (Marie) Henson of Malvern, AR, Odis (Pamela) of Huntsville, AL, and Anthony (Lisa) of Arlington, TX; four sisters, Linda (Robert) White, Rachel (James) Davis, Lillie Lemons all of Arkadelphia, AR, and Darlene (Clifford) Riddle of Gulfport, MS; two grandchildren of Hot Springs, AR; four aunts, Fannie Davis, and Mary Banks both of Grand Rapids, MI, Betty Reed of Little Rock, AR, and Juanita Reed of Arkadelphia, AR; one uncle, Hubbard Reed of Detroit, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends which includes two very special best friends, Eugene “Mr. Bud” Thomas, and Andrew Brownlee.
