“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
This story began for Charles Andrew McClure when has was born on July 19, 1949, to Clara and Robert McClure in Curtis, AR. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at a young age and was a member of Mt. Friendship Baptist Church until his untimely departure from this life. Charles was a very outgoing person and always loved to have a good time and lots of laughs. He never met a stranger and loved to be the life of the gathering. He enjoyed sharing stories and laughing with friends and family over delicious soul food. He had many nicknames by which people knew him including Bigfoot, Jolly Charley, and Good Time Charley. He would also make up names for his friends and family as well.
He worked for Reynolds Aluminum Plant and was a faithful employee for 11 years until he retired due to his health.
Charles loved the community of Curtis, Arkansas stating that there was no place like home and referred to Curtis as “God’s country!” Here in God’s Country, one could always find Charles visiting with his siblings or playing a game of cards with his close friends. Charles believed in living life to the fullest and always sought to make the best of every situation.
Family, as well as friends, will miss his strength, smile, and love, but will never forget his spirit and compassion. He was always there for friends and family whenever they called for help.
Charles was welcomed to his eternal home by his father, Robert McClure, his mother, Clara McClure, his brothers, Joe McClure, Robert Louis McClure, & sister Olly Vera (Bitty) Martin. Sister-in-law Zeola Noel and brother-in-law Charles Mitchell.
