Clarence Tidwell

Clarence Tidwell 62, of Arkadelphia died Monday January 6, 2014 at his home. He began his life on September 18, 1951 in Gurdon the son of the late Jerry and Jewel Tidwell.

Clarence grew up in Marked Tree, AR where he first began his journey in school. Later he moved back to Gurdon with his parents where he attended Henry Bell Jr High School.

Clarence attended Baring Cross church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Bailey in Smithon, AR. He was a musician in the church where he served faithfully for many years until his health failed. Later his family moved back to Davis Memorial under the leadership of Pastor Benny Johnson.

Clarence leaves to cherish his memory one son James Giles of Prescott, AR; two brothers, Robert Tidwell of Batesville, AR; Oscar Tidwell of Gurdon, AR; one adopted brother Jimmie Tidwell of Milwaukee, WI; five sisters, Queen E. Deloach of Detroit, MI; Veaster McDaniel of Houston, TX; Bobbie Young of Gurdon, AR; Annie Pearl Bullock of Bryant, AR;Beatrice (Claudie)Beard, Irene Mays both of Arkadelphia, AR; and one adopted sister Linda (Lee) Johnson of Arkadelphia; two grandchildren Jarely Giles and Verus Giles; a loving ex daughter-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 A.M. at Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ where Elder Benny Johnson is pastor and Officant.
Burial will be in the Rose Hedge cemetery in Gurdon under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday January 14, 2014 from 1 to 7 P.M. at the Funeral Home and family hour from 6 to 7 P.M.
