Clemon White "Preacher" Obituary

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.- Psalm 23:6

Clemon Charles White was born to James and Geneva White on October 9, 1947 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was the third of eight children raised in a Christian home full of siblings and love. Clemon attended school in Arkadelphia and later entered the workforce as an employee of Bowens Restaurant in Arkadelphia where he served as a Food Prep Specialist.  He then started his career with the Arkansas Highway Department, devoting over 30 years as a Park Attendant until his retirement in 2012. He was a faithful member of Manchester Church of God in Christ in the Manchester community where he became a proud, faithful, and ordained deacon under the leadership of Elder Kermit Edington in 2017.

Deacon White was affectionately known as "Preacher" among family and friends. Upon meeting Preacher, first impressions would show him to be a soft spoken man of few words. To those who knew and loved him, he was the fun loving prankster, who loved to laugh and make others laugh. Preacher was a respectful man of God. He was kind to everyone, and a deeply devoted family man, always willing to lend a helping hand. In his free time, he could be found talking to friends, driving around town, working on his cars, or mostly riding and working on his tractor. He was truly a Jack of all Trades. Loved ones looked forward to his rendition of the “Happy Birthday” song, as it always brought a smile to their face and made their day more special.

Clemon C. White's transition was made to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 26, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Geneva White; brothers, James White Jr. and Cornelius White. Those left to forever cherish his memories are his siblings, Annie Mae White, Ernestine (Robert) Johnson, Betty Phifer, Herman White, Derrick (Verkita) White; and a sister-in-law, Lillie White, all of Arkadelphia, AR; 14 nieces and nephews, 5 great nieces and nephews, 3 great-great niece and nephews,  a host of cousins, friends, and a beloved and trusted friend,
Linda McCaskill.
