Deborah Ann Salley-Flint was received by her parents, Roy Thomas Salley and Marian Lillian Wright-Salley with much joy on Saturday, January 18, 1958. She succumbed to eternity on Thursday, September 12, 2024, while recuperating as a resident of The Springs of Chenal Health and Rehabilitation Center of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Deborah was united with the First Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late, Rev Jacob H. Hayes. She later united with the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her father, Dr. Roy Thomas Salley. Deb remained faithful to her duties until her health declined in June 2023.
Deborah was a graduate of Bearden High School and graduated with the Class of 1976. After graduation, Deborah worked in many capacities. She worked as a seamstress with Masterson’s, A Culinary Manager at the Holiday Inn; She later joined forces with McDonald’s and Popeye and served as the manager at them both. Her last place of employment was served at 331 Anthony Drive as Caregivers for her mom and dad.
In the year of 1975, she joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Jackie Oakly Flint. To this union two son’s were born; Jeremy Antwan and Jarrod Jawan Flint.
Deborah was very passionate about cooking and her most favored dish by many was her VERY Unique “Hot Water” cornbread – It was the BEST!
Deborah will be greatly missed by the love ones who cherished her very dearly. Her mom and dad – Marian Lillian Wright-Salley and Rev. Dr. Roy Thomas Salley of Bearden, Arkansas. Her two sons - Jeremy (Stacey) Flint of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jarrod (Ashley) Flint of Bearden, Arkansas. Her siblings, Joyce Dickerson-Parham of Sparkman, Arkansas, Ronald Jay Salley of Bigelow, Arkansas, Sandra Salley-Lambert (Terry) of Bearden, Arkansas. She was also Blessed with four bonus sisters – Shunga Wright of Milwaukee, WI; Danetta (Henry Lavelle) Davis of East Camden, Arkansas; Jeanetta (Larry) Blood of Bearden, Arkansas; Chellie V. Wright of Fort Worth, Texas.
She leaves to morn her passing six grandchildren – Jada and Niya Flint, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Serena, Jackie, Deborah and Franklin Flint of Bearden, Arkansas. Her memory will also be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, the Pilgrim Rest Church Family and her many friends.
Deborah Ann Salley-Flint will truly be missed; however, we are so thankful to our Heavenly Father for allowing her to be a part of our lives for sixty-six years on this side and we look forward to a life of eternity on the other side. Deborah, we can’t be with you, but God can. We pray that God be with you until we meet again – Amen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. The homegoing celebration service, honoring the life and love of Deborah Salley-Flint, will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Bearden, AR at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor, Troy E. Moore as officiant, and Pastor Louis A Craig as eulogist. Committal and final resting place will be in Moss Hill Cemetery in Bearden, AR.
