Dorothy Hill was born on November 20, 1941, to Clevland Hopkins and Eloise R. Gooden in Tollette, AR. She was the oldest of ten children.
At an early age, the family moved to Bakersfield, CA, where she attended school. Later moved to Los Angeles where she worked at Pacific Electrical, thereafter, she started working for Weiser Lock, where she worked for 20 plus years.
On December 24, 1968, she married Marion G. Hill and they were married for 52 years. In 1983, Dorothy and her family moved to Oklahoma, and shortly thereafter she started working for General Motors, where she worked for 23 years. Dorothy returned back to school to study Photography and Journalism.
Dorothy became a faithful member of Garden of Prayer, where she rededicated her life to God, and became a loyal member of the Trustee Board, Financial Secretary, following the pastor to Community Lighthouse until the pastor and name change to Restoration Worship Center, and was there until the Lord called her home.
On August 20, 2020, Dorothy passed from labor to reward. She now lives eternally with the Lord and in the treasured memories of those who knew her. She was a wonderful righteous woman.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her Father and Mother Clevland Hopkins and Eloise R. Gooden; her grandmother, Sara Rogers; aunts, uncles, cousins, sister, brother.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her home going, her husband, Marion G. Hill; two sons, Raychele Allen and Hiram Hill; four sisters: Brenda (Barney), Carolyn Sue, Lorene (Mike), and Eva Mae (Tracey); four brothers: Cleo (Rosie), Sherman, Gene, and Chris Dale (Debbie); 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. at Restoration Worship Center in Oklahoma City, OK with Elder Henry Hill as eulogist and Apostle Victor Sanders, Sr. as officiant. Committal and Final resting place will be Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. Pleasant Hill Cemetery in JoAnn, AR.
