After retiring some of her favorite hobbies were quilting, planting and caring for her flowers. Elnora loved to watch her favorite TV shows-The Young and The Restless, Touched by an Angel, and Walker Texas Ranger. Elnora shared her love with the community by sewing quilts for the new babies as well as giving Christmas gifts to children. Her home was open to everyone for a hot meal or to grab a piece of candy from her candy bowls.
Elnora was united in holy matrimony to Londell Leeper on February 16, 1946 and to this union 12 children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Mattie and Cynthia, one grandchild, Kimberly Leeper (Carl and Johnnie) and one great- grandchild, Christopher Newborn (Fabian and Kristi). Elnora leaves to cherish her precious memory:: Five sons, Henry J. (Renita) Leeper, Carl E. (Johnnie) Leeper, Don Leeper, and Freddie Leeper all of Okolona and Harold (Tonya) Leeper of Flint, Michigan; 5 daughters, Helen (John) Ross, Louise Leeper, Andranette (Ricky) Norton all of Okolona, Maude (Roy) Rogers of Hensley, and Faye (Jesse) Newborn of Arkadelphia; 25 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; one aunt, Lillian Ruth Hayes of Los Angeles, CA, three sister-in-laws; Esther (John) Hunter, Zeola Leeper, and Charlene Leeper,and a host of relatives and dear friends
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Okolona with Rev. Rufus R. Hatley as eulogist. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 7 P.M. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Mitchell Funeral Home.
