Evelyn Marie Dixon

Sister Evelyn M. Dixon was born on September 30, 1939 in Arkadelphia, AR to the late Mr. and Mrs. Huie and Catherine Dixon. She was a 1958 graduate of Peake High School and a member of St. Ruth Baptist Church. She was employed by Levi Strauss and also the Arkadelphia Public School System working in the culinary department.

Sister Dixon was called home to rest on September 16, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father, Huie Dixon, her mother, Catherine Dixon and one sister, Ollie McClellan.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one sister, Martha Scott (Charles); one brother, Huie L. Dixon (Martha) both of Arkadelphia, AR; one niece, Wanda G. Hearn (Troy) of Arkadelphia, AR; five nephews, Edward W. Scott (Claretta) of Arkadelphia, AR, Christopher L. Dixon of Little Rock, AR, Anthony McClellan (Lenore), Gregory McClellan and Michael McClellan all of Los Angeles, CA; one great nephew, Treywan Hearn of Arkadelphia, AR; nine great nieces and nephews all of Los Angeles, CA and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends.

Services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, AR. Visitation will be at Mitchell Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Graveside services will be at Gum Springs Cemetery in Gum Springs, AR on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
