Garland Hale Obituary

"My idea of heaven is to wake up, have a good breakfast, and spend the rest of the day drawing" -Peter Falk

Garland LaPaul Hale Was born on February 05, 1966, in Prescott, AR along with his twin sister Kathy Hale-Day, to his parents Hosie J. Hale and Alice R. Brown-Hale. He was raised in a Christian home and attended First Baptist Church in Okolona AR with his family.

At a young age, Garland attended Okolona Public Schools and later in life attended Prescott/Nevada County Special Services in Prescott AR. There Garland learned different life skills and small job training.

Garland was a sweet and quiet soul. He loved to eat and enjoyed his mother’s cooking. He especially loved when his dad would bring him home treats. A few of his favorite things were french fries and M&M’s candy. Garland’s favorite thing to do as a child all the way into adulthood was to draw. One thing he would draw was trains. Garland loved trains and would often ask tons of questions about them. The amazing thing about his love for trains was that he lived in a house near the railroad tracks. Every time he heard a train coming, you could see the excitement on his face. He would either go to the window and look out or go outside on the porch and watch it pass by. He even had the honor of taking a train ride to California, with his family, to visit his Aunt Elnora and cousin Nona.

On Friday, February 26, 2021, Garland departed his earthly home for a home in glory, not made by man. He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandmother, Sally Maude Hale, and Maternal Grandparents Goldberg and Mary Brown. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his parents Hosie J. Hale and Alice R. Brown-Hale of Okolona, AR; older brother Kenneth Hale Sr., twin sister Kathy Hale-Day (Shufford), and younger brother Israel Marquez (Jasmine) all of Okolona, AR. Nephews; Kenneth Hale Jr. Of Austin, TX and Shufford Justus Day of Okolona, AR. Nieces; Simone Day of Arkadelphia, AR, and Kharisma Day of Okolona, AR. Great nephews; Tyler and Davi Hale and Demarion Delamar. Great nieces; Kymbella Day and Saiya Smith. Aunts: Elnora Thomas of Del Mar, CA, Linda Brunson of Moreno Valley, CA, Laura Gulley of Hope, AR. Uncle Charles Brown of Missouri. Special cousin Nona Thomas and many loving cousins and family friends.
