Georgia Jones Obituary

Georgia M. Jones, 91, entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2014, at Pavilions at Forrestal Care Center, Princeton, New Jersey.

Born Georgia Mae Cotledge, the second child of Hosea and Ilind (Daniel) Cotledge, Georgia grew up in Arkadelphia and moved to Gary, Indiana in 1954. She later relocated to New Jersey to live with her daughter and family.

Georgia was a homemaker and beloved caregiver; she also worked as a beautician, waitress and nurse's aid, retiring from Gary Methodist Hospital.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cornelius Jones; son, Carl Jones and his second wife Peggy Jones; thirteen brothers and sisters; and son-in-law Malcolm Bernard, Jr.

Georgia is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jones Bernard of Princeton, NJ; brother, John Milton Cotledge of Los Angeles, CA; daughter-in-law Dorothy (Cooper) Jones of Gary, IN; grandsons, Craig and Cory Jones of Gary, IN; granddaughter, Cortney Bernard Giagnacova (Andrew) of Gaithersburg, MD; three great-grandchildren, Kalob Aareon Jones and David Jones of Gary, IN, Anderson Malcolm Giagnacova of Gaithersburg, MD; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation and homegoing services will be held on Saturday, February 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. L.A. Craig, Officiating.

Committal Service and final resting place will be at Helms Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, The Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair, Inc. or charity of your choice.
