Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. - Ecclesiastes 12:7
God’s child, Gregory Hunter, was born on August 22, 1954, in Sparkman, AR to Archie Mae and Christel Lee Hunter. Greg loved the Lord and was baptized at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church in Sparkman, AR. He attended Sparkman Training School and graduated from Sparkman High School. After school, he joined the U.S. Army where he served honorably achieving the National Defense Service Medal and being skilled on the rifle.
Greg was an outgoing people person who loved spoiling and spending time with his nieces and nephews. To know him was to love him. Being around him was sure to put a smile on your face. He earned the nickname, “Cool Pop” from his family and friends. Other hobbies he enjoyed included: watching westerns on television and his favorite the Arkansas Razorbacks, listening to music, dancing, helping others, the community, and the CADC. Most of all, other than his precious family, Greg loved being able to worship in the house of the Lord.
On December 12, 2020, Greg slipped into the Lord's heavenly embrace at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those going on before him include his parents, Archie Mae and Christel Lee Hunter; and two brothers, James Hunter and David Lee Hunter. Those left to remember his life are his sister, Melendell Hunter, of Sparkman, AR, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
