Joann Bell Nelson, was born April 2,1942 in Gurdon Arkansas the daughter of the late Wallace Atoy and Ora King Bell.
She was a retired employee of Anheuser Busch Company and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Pacoima, California. When she returned to Arkansas, she united with Mt. Caanan Baptist Church in Gurdon. Later she united with St. Paul A.M.E. in Arkadelphia after her marriage to James D. Nelson.
She leave to cherish her loving memories her husband, James D. Nelson of Arkadelphia, AR; one sister, Mary J. Bell of Gurdon, AR; two aunts, Christine (Andy) Hatley of Gurdon and Louellen (Robert) Carter of Waldo, AR; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be Tuesday May 22 at 11 A.M. at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church where Rev. T.W. Scott is Pastor and Rev. Llewellyn Terry is officiating.
Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery at Beirne under the direction of Mitchell Funeral. Home.
Visitation will be Monday May 21 from 6 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
