Heaven gained an angel on December 16, 2013 when Juanita "Nita" Wilson left this life to be with the Father.
Juanita Wilson 58, of Arkadelphia died Monday, December 16, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center. She was born February 8, 1955 in Saginaw, MI, the Daughter of the late Johnnie and LeFlora McGhee.
Nita was a retired employee of the International Paper Company and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was chairman of the Culinary Department.Nita's favorite accomplishment was getting crowned Arkadelphia's first black homecoming queen. She enjoyed traveling and fishing but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her beloved children and grandchildren. She also had numerous family and close friends whom she enjoyed laughing and spending time with.
Survivors include her husband Rupert Wilson; one son Bryson Wilson of Portland, OR and one daughter Whitney Wilson of Arkadelphia; three brothers, J.T. (Bert) McGhee, Gregory McGhee, and Eli (Sandra) McGhee all of Arkadelphia; two grandchildren Kiyan Wilson of Portland, OR and Whitley White of Arkadelphia;and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 1 P.M. at St. Paul A.M.E church with Rev. Llewellyn Terry officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery under the Direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2013 at the funeral home from 12 to 4 P.M. with family hour from 5 to 7 P.M. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 307 North 16th street Arkadelphia.
