Lawrence House, Sr. Obituary

On October 16, 1942, Lawrence Edward House, Sr. was born to the late Huey Lee House and Ethel Marie Williams Fuller in the Manchester Community in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was his mother’s only child. Lawrence accepted Christ as his personal savior as a little boy and united with the Manchester Church of God in Christ, where he remained a member until his passing.

Lawrence had a fondness for life. Among his hobbies were fishing, grilling, traveling, and socializing with friends. Lawrence got his educational start at the Manchester Community School and graduated from Peake High School in 1961.

Shortly after graduating high school, he would later enlist in the United States Army. Afterward, he was able to fulfill his love of travel and call many places home, which include not only Arkansas but California and Virginia as well. While living in Arkansas, Lawrence was employed by General Brakes in Gum Springs.

Lawrence, age 77, passed away peacefully while he slept on June 29, 2020, at Courtyard Gardens Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Huey Lee House, his son Lawrence Edward House, Jr., and his brother Donald Hart. He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Stella Hale (Paul), Syleshia House, Deanna Frank (Rick), and Daymond House; his mother, Ethel Marie Williams Fuller; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
