MSGT. Charles Henry Smith, age 55, of Victorville, California formerly of Glenwood, Arkansas died Thursday March 29 in Loma Linda, California. He was born September 28, 1956 in Kremlin, Colorado the son of Emma Lee Smith and the late Abraham Smith Sr. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Marines.
Survivors include his wife Twyla Smith: one son, Mario Charles Smith of Victorville, CA; his mother Emma Lee Smith of Arkadelphia, AR; five brothers, Alvin and Jonathan Smith both of Arkadelphia, AR; Kenneth Smith of Hot Springs, AR; Abraham Smith Jr. of Atlanta, GA; and Gary Smith of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Deanice Delamar of Dallas, TX; and Yvonne Hunter of Arkadelphia, AR; a granddaughter, De'mya Smith of San Bernardino, CA.
Funeral service will be Monday at 1PM at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd Jr. is pastor and officiating.
Burial and final resting place will be at the Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Visitation is Sunday from 4 PM to 7 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home.
