Michael McNeal Obituary

Michael Dean McNeal, age 63 of Dallas, TX, left this earthly life to be with our Father in Heaven on April 18, 2017. He was born in Little Rock, AR to the late Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy and Minnie Wells. He was raised in Arkadelphia, AR and graduated from Arkadelphia High School. His maternal grandmother, the late Josephine Burnes, was very instrumental in his upbringing. Michael later met and married Saundra Johnson (McNeal) in 1973 and together they had one child, Latoya. Michael later married Jenetta McNeal and they had three children, DeVontae, DeShuntae and Shadawndra. Michael had two other children as well, Michael Bell and Alexis (Marlotha) Keys. His family was now complete.

Michael was a hardworking man and was employed most of his adult life as a brick mason. Mike would always make time for his family and friends and would do whatever was in his power to help those in need. Michael lived in Dallas, TX with his significant other, longtime friend and loving companion Ms. Willie Mae Jamerson until his demise.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; his stepfather, Clarence Davis and one brother, Harold Raymond McNeal. Those left to cherish fond memories of him include: his significant other, Willie Mae Jamerson; two sons, Michael Bell of Dallas, TX and DeVontae McNeal of Texarkana, TX; four daughters, Latoya McNeal, Alexis Keys of Bogalusa, Louisiana, DeShuntae McNeal and Shadawndra McNeal both of Texarkana, TX; three brothers, Ronnie Wells and Donnie (LaShundra) Wells both of Dallas, TX and John (Paula) McNeal of Arkadelphia, AR; one sister, Shirley Henry of Dallas, TX; one Step Brother, Supt. Robert (Erica) Davis of Arkadelphia, AR; one Step Sister, Bobbie Jean Davis of Arkadelphia, AR; eight grandchildren, Diamond, Byron, Diamond, Marcus, Dyling, My’Lasia, Malik and Destiny; two great grandchildren, Michael and Jarvis and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, AR. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 11:00a.m.- 5:00 p.m. with family and friends hour at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church in Arkadelphia, AR at 11:00 a.m. where Rev. Frederick Smith is Pastor. Superintendent Robert L. Davis will serve as eulogist. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery in Richmond Hill.

Family and Friends hour will also be at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
