Mildred Williams Obituary

On December 19, 2013, God sent his angel to usher Missionary Mildred Williams from labor to reward, in her 85th season. She was born on August 27, 1928, in Salem, Arkansas to John and Cora (Curry) Jones.

Missionary Williams professed her hope in Christ at an early age. She was Saved, Sanctified and filled with Holy Ghost in 1947 under the late Elder Furlough. She later joined the Williams Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the Pasturage of her Husband Elder Paul Williams. She has been a loyal and faithful member of the Church of God in Christ, in good standing for 66 years.

Missionary Williams was the First Lady of the Williams Temple Church of God in Christ. She was a License Evangelist Missionary. She played the Piano for her local church; she was an avid supporter of the Choir and Youth Department. She served as the District Missionary for the Prescott District for a number of years. She served as the State Secretary for the Jurisdictional Youth Department. Missionary Williams faithfully attended church until her health failed her.

In 1953 Missionary Mildred Williams met and fell in love, and married the love of her life, Elder Paul Williams, an anointed preacher and pastor. She remained faithful to Elder Williams until her death. To their union Six Sons were born.

On Thursday Morning December 19, 2013 Missionary Mildred Williams walked away from this life into the Kingdom of God into her loving Saviour's arms. She was preceded in death by her parents (John and Cora Jones). Five Brother (Nathaniel Jones; Morris Jones; J. D Jones, Earl Jones, Ernest Jones. Three Sisters (Juanita Menifield; Opal Jones; Ruby Lois Watson). One Son (Calvin Van Williams). Two Great Grandchildren (Brianna Williams and Darius Williams).

Missionary Mildred Williams leaves to cherish her memory: Her Devoted and Loving Husband of 60 years, Elder Paul Williams of Arkadelphia, AR. Her Five Beloved Sons: John Douglas Williams (Patricia) of Arkadelphia, AR; Maurice Williams (Norma) of Mountain Pine Arkansas; James E. Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jerry D. Williams (Jennifer) of Mesquite, TX; Paul Dennis Williams of Arkadelphia, AR. One Beloved Brother: Hershel Jones of Texarkana, TX. Seventeen Grandchildren, a host of Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, In-laws and a host of other relatives and friends.

Missionary Mildred Williams will lie in state at Mitchell Funeral Home, 1809 Caddo St, Arkadelphia, Arkansas on Friday, December 27th, from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; and the family will greet friends and share the images of life DVD from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Tate Temple Church of God in Christ.

The final Celebration and Tribute of Missionary Mildred Williams will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Dr. Lewis Shepherd, Pastor. Superintendent LeRoy Williams will be the eulogist; and Bishop Frank J. Anderson Jr. will officiate.

The committal service and final resting place will be the Piney Grove Cemetery, Manchester Community.
