God saw his angel was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me". On November 12, 2014, Mrs. Mollie Smith slipped into the Lord's embrace at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Mollie Lee Smith was born February 8, 1927 in Arkadelphia the daughter of the late Walter and Bedie Newburn.
She was a homemaker and a retired employee of Levi Stratuss Co. Mollie was a member of Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church where she was a church mother.
Survivors include: her husband Alfred Jerry Smith of Arkadelphia; one son, Vernell Smith of Farmington Hills, Michigan; three daughters, Darnell Harris, Bedie Reed, and Mammie Cummings all of Arkadelphia; one sister Bessie Blacknall of Arkadelphia; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Fredrick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, November 17, 2014 from 12 to 7 p.m. with the family hour from 6 to 7 p.m.
