Mother Mary L. Ross

Mother Mary Louise Ross, age 83, slept peacefully into the Lord’s embrace on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at her home. She was born on November 23, 1933 in Warren, AR to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Tarry and Octavia Henry. Mother Ross was employed at Voishun Aircraft in California where she worked and later retired after 30 long years of labor. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Tate Temple Church of God in Christ in Arkadelphia, AR where Superintendent LeRoy Williams is Pastor. She served in many positions at the church and held many titles, one being Mother of the church. Mother Mary Ross was a triumphant woman of God with a sweet spirit and a heart of gold. She will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mother Ross was preceded in death by her three sons: Billy Butler, David Butler and Richard Butler. Those left to forever cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Roy Ross; one son, Larry Butler; one grandson, James Butler; one sister, Nettie (late-Charlie) Overton; three brothers, Kenneth (Cynthia) Henry, James Henry and John (Peaches) Henry; Goddaughter, Tasha Binns and a host of extended family and friends.

Services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, AR. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Family and Friends hour will be at Tate Temple from 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd is pastor and will also serve as officiant. Superintendent LeRoy Williams will serve as Eulogist. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia.
