Nick Carr, Jr. Obituary

On December 1, 1938 in Clark County, Arkansas Nick Carr, Sr. and Glennie Jones Carr received their eight and last child and named him Nick Carr, Jr. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age.

Nick was a long time member of Mount Olive A.M.E. Church, serving on the Usher Board for many years and was a devoted and faithful member until his health failed him.

He graduated from Sparkman Training High School, served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, and was employed with General Motors Company for 27 years. After retiring he moved back to Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Nick went home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sister: Mildred Jackson, Ophelia McDaniel, Bessie Carr-Keith and Mary E. Carr Giles; and three brothers: Charles Carr, Percy Carr and Verdie Carr, Sr.

He leave to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Delois Carr of Arkadelphia, AR; one son, Glenn (Vern) Harrison, and his grandchildren. He will be missed by Elder Leon (Darnell) Harris, who shared the Word of God with him; his (Buddy) Evern Browning; his favorite Nephew, Bobby (Charlotte) Neal; his very, very best friends, Ray and Dorothy Shealey; his caregiver, Gladys Brownlee; nephew, Tony (Donna) Hogan; Joe and Marshel Johnson, Annie Carr, Dorothy Delamar, Paralee (Darrell) Taylor, Johnny Neal; favorite niece, Heather Browning; his cousin, Lou Ethel Naudin, and a host of nieces, nieces, nephews and friends. These are the people who stood by him to the very, very end. They will always have a special place in my heart.
