Ozell Jones

Mrs. Ozell Jones passed away peacefully while sleeping on April 2, 2016 in her 94th season of life. She was born in Okolona, Arkansas on June 13, 1921 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sorrells and Nora Sorells(Wells).

Mrs. Ozell Jones resided in Springfield, MA for most of her life. She was a caterer and housekeeper. She was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Springfield. Mrs. Ozell was an intelligent, loving woman of amazing strength and integrity. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her loving husband, John H. Jones and twelve brothers and sisters. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three sons, Billy Jones (wife Karen); Johnnie Jones, and Tommy Jones (wife Rose); two daughters, Nora Davis and Diane Denson; eight grandchildren, Rhonda Evans, Rosalind Davis, Akisha Jones, Lisa Jones, Roshawnda Jackson, Tashi Jones, Jalen Jones and Allana Stallworth-Cummings; seven great grandchildren, Dawann Johnson, Kabrillen Jones, Dionna Davis, Jahdaya Green, Maxwell Maddox, Marcus Maddox and Aiden Lumpkin She also had numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral services were held at her church, Bethel A.M.E. Church, 27 Pendleton Avenue, Springfield, MA 01109 on April 08, 2016 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, AR. Committal services and burial will be at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Okolona Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, AR.
