On October 4, 2014 the Lord sent an angel to bring Sister Renel Williamson home. Renel Williamson was born January 16, 1923 in Arkadelphia to Willie and Foster Williams.
She attended school in Manchester and accepted Christ at an early age. She moved to Oakland, California in the mid 40's.
Renel was united in holy matrimony to the late Mack Williamson. She was a very skilled woman and worked various jobs over her lifetime. The United States Post Office, San Francisco General Hospital as a CNA, and lastly she was a caregiver for the elderly. She was a fun loving woman who did not mind speaking whatever she wanted.
Sister Williamson at the age of 91, completed her earthly journey to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 4, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Foster Williams, her husband Mack, two brothers Leroy and Charlie, two sisters Lula and Claudine and her one beloved son Joseph Scott Jr.
Renel leaves to cherish her precious memory: A special sister and care giver, Ethel Fuller of Oakland, California; Step-daughter, Linda Williamson-Brown of Oakland, California; a daughter in-law, Joyce Scott of Richmond, California, six grandchildren, Lisa Hasley, David Scott, Delana Scott, Vernessa Scott-Lafleur, Thomas Scott, Cory Fuller and Tamika Ford; fifteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a very special nephew, Lawrence E. House and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will held Thursday October 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Manchester Church Of God In Christ. Where Elder G. C. Nolan is the pastor, with Supt. Leroy Williams officiating. Burial takes place in Piney Grove Cemetery. Under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation is Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 12 to 7 p.m. for the public with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home.
