Rev. Raymond Smith

Beloved husband and father, Rev. Raymond Smith of Arkadelphia, AR, slipped into the Lord's heavenly embrace on October 11, 2016 in his 68th season of life. He was born on February 23, 1948 to the late Ephraim Smith and Elnora Yarborough Butler. Rev. Smith was a people person and never met a stranger. He enjoyed ministering to everyone he could. He worked for the Entergy Electric Cooperation for many years and was a faithful member of Gennesaret Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. Rev. Raymond Smith was a wonderful minister, husband, father and friend. He has earned his eternal rest with the Lord.

He leaves a lifetime of fond memories with, his loving wife of 43 years, Myrtle Joyce Smith; two sons, Christen Smith (Sharitte) of Sparkman, AR and Gerren "G-Man" Smith of Arkadelphia, AR; four granddaughters and a host of extended family and friends.

Public visitation will be at Mitchell Funeral Home on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 12 noon- 5 p.m. The family hour will be held at Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Frederick L. Smith is pastor from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. Celebration Services of his life and legacy will be Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Park Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles D. Hood officiating and Rev. Frederick L. Smith as eulogist. Burial will be at Helms Cemetery in Arkadelphia.

Family hour will be at Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church in Arkadelphia from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.
