Ruel White, Sr. Obituary

Brother Ruel Lee White, Sr. was born in Hope, AR on July 6, 1940 to the late Elijah White and Levester Clark. He and his siblings were raised up in a home of the perfect example of the familiar bible verse, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it". Brother White was very well mannered and respectful of everyone regardless of age. He made sure to treat each person as the way he desired to be treated, with dignity and respect.

Brother White graduated from Hope High School and started looking for work in Arkadelphia. There he began his career at the ammunition plant and the saw mill. He also met and married the love of his life, Ruth L. Bailey. In the sweetheart month of February 1960, the couple was united in holy matrimony. Their love and commitment to one another sustained for 56 years, lasting until the end of Brother White's time.

Brother White attended church at Macedonia Baptist Church in Sparkman, AR with his daughter and family. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking walks and mingling with everyone. When he traveled his transportation of choice was the greyhound bus. He loved taking the greyhound any and everywhere he could. He was a kind, quiet man with a heart of gold. He helped anyone who needed him or asked for his help.

On Friday, September 23, 2016 Brother Ruel White's life came to a close in his 76th season. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Levester White.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted wife, Ruth White of Arkadelphia, AR; two sons, Ruel White, Jr. of Arkadelphia, AR, and Eric White (Janita) of Broken Bow, OK; three daughters, Jacqueline Bragg (Frederick) of Sparkman, AR, Sandra Jackson of Arkadelphia, AR and Bridgett Welch (Gordon) of Mt.
