Sadie Mae White

Sweet Sadie Mae White, age 77, of Arkadelphia, AR passed on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born on August 14, 1940, to the late Margurite Gordon and Luther Summerville. Sadie was employed by the Arkadelphia Public Schools as a custodian for over 10 years. She was a devoted member of Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jessie White, and 2 sisters, Gloria Jean Taylor and May Louise Houff. She leaves behind one son, Robert White Sr. (Linda); 5 sisters, Charlotte Sue Todd (Arthur), Martha Ray Cummings, Marilyn Casin, Carolyn Johnson (Micheal), and Peggy Goodman (David); 2 brothers, Thomas Taylor, and Luther Summerville, Jr; 11 grandchildren, Robert White, Jr. Rebecca White, Christina Patton, Darneisha Green, Isaac Perry, Chandra Tucker, Robin White, Eric White, Patrick White, Marcus White, and Nigel White; 25 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sweet Sadie, gone but never forgotten. Services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, AR. Visitation will be Friday, May 11, 2018, from 12 noon- 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr is the pastor and will serve as eulogist at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The body will lie in state 1 hour prior to funeral time.
