Sarah Leonia Henderson Hailey was born July 8, 1932to Earnest and Elvia Nelson Henderson, in Sparkman,Arkansas. She departed this life on August 8, 2020.
Sarah accepted Christ at an early age at the FirstBaptist Church, Sparkman, Arkansas. She attended and graduated from the Sparkman Training School. After graduation she moved to Detroit Michigan and married George Woodbury, to this union three children was born. Sarah moved to Brooklyn, New York where she later met and united in holy matrimony to Reginald Hailey.
She was employed at the World Trade Center where she worked in Security until she retired and re-located back home to Sparkman, Arkansas. After moving back to Arkansas she work at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas until her health failed. Sarah re-united with the First Missionary Baptist Church of Sparkman, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Louis Albert Craig, Pastor and served as a faithful member until her death.
Sarah was preceded in death by (a baby) daughter, her parents, her loving husband; Reginald Hailey, three sisters; Lillian Henderson, Luvenia Knight and Ora Lee Craig of Sparkman. Two brothers; Richard Henderson of Detroit, Michigan and Henry Lee Henderson of Sparkman, Arkansas. She leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons; Dewayne Henderson Hailey of Texarkana, Texas and Roger (Donnette Elliot) Woodbury of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Three Grandsons, one of Arkadelphia, AR (Malik), two of Jacksonville, Florida, five great grandsons and one great, great granddaughter of Jacksonville, Florida. Two sisters -in- laws; Rosie Henderson of Detroit, Michigan and Lovie Henderson of Sparkman, Arkansas. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and two special nieces.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 12 noon-5:00 P.M. Graveside services will be at Sparkman Community Cemetery in Sparkman, AR on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Louis A. Craig as eulogist. If it is raining services will move to First Baptist Church Sparkman, AR.
Due to COVID-19 Social Distancing will be practiced. Please refrain from shaking hands with or hugging the family. Masks are required.
