The celebration of life on earth for Starri Lorraine Coward-Wright began August 31, 1957 in Sparkman, Arkansas. She was the third child and first daughter of seven children born to Mrs. Bonnie Faye Wright. In answer to the call of God, she exited her earthly tabernacle on Friday, May 4, 2012 in Lincoln Park, Michigan.
Starri received her early education in Sparkman school system. After her family relocated to the state of Michigan, she furthered her education in the state of Michigan school system, attending Benton Harbor High School.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and began her Christian journey at First Baptist Church, Sparkman under the leadership of the late Reverend Pete Lambert.
In 1978 she married John Onray Coward of Ypsilanti, Michigan. She mothered four wonderful children: Marlon Francisco, Alice Faye, John Onray II and Valerie Jolena. She motherly grand mothered her eight beautifully active grandchildren: Alex Alantis 11, Juwells 8, Leah 6, Tion'e 2, Cameron 8 months, Quaran 5 and Lyric 1.
Bless be the ties that bind. Family ties of loved ones gone before her includes her great-great grandparents Jack and Elizabeth (Moses) Wright, great grandparents Joe and Alabama (Gilliam) Wright, grandparents Joe Clarence and Annie Bell (Keith) Wright, Great grandparents Walker (Corine Powell and Lucille Osborne) Keith, Her mother, Bonnie Faye Wright, her brother Michael Maurice Wright, her husband, John Onray Coward, and her infant daughter Alice Faye Coward.
Those left to cherish her loving memories are three brothers, George Wright (Palestine) of Little Rock, AR; Frederick Douglas Wright of Sparkman, AR; and Stacey Lamone Cross of Arkadelphia, AR; two sisters, Cheryl Yvette Ross of Sparkman, AR and JoAnn Wright of Arkadelphia, AR; seven grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday May 14, at 1 P.M. at First Baptist Church, Sparkman, where Rev. L.A. Craig is the Pastor/Eulogist and Dr. R.T. Salley Officiating.
Committal and final resting place will be in the Sparkman Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 A.M at the funeral home.
